Paradox.

It’s a word that always comes up when I’m talking with other photographers.

Paradox is a funny thing. As humans, we are wired to feel emotions. However, paradox allows us to feel multiple emotions at the same time which can be immensely confusing. While many of us are completely detached from this experience, photographers feel it all of the time.

Like many of us, Mike Mezeul II seeks out extreme conditions to photograph. Mike stands in from of volcanoes, supercells, and various landscapes that scream extreme. When the shutter is clicked, however, a peaceful image remains. Paradox.

In this episode, I talk to Mike about that feeling of shooting a destructive force while in awe of the beauty of nature. We also discuss how he got started in photography and the various impacts of social media.
