It’s always a fun experience for me to record a podcast with someone who is not only well respected in the photography community, but also well connected. Gary Randall fits the bill for that kind of discussion. He was the most requested photographer by far when I asked who I should have on the show.

I also find it fascinating to have some of the older photographers on the show too (and that’s not a shot at Gary’s age.) Hearing Gary compare and contrast his experiences in life and as a photographer through decades was enjoyable for me, especially when I can reflect on my own journey as a photographer as well.

In this episode of The Landscape Photography Show, Gary Randall and I discuss:

  • How he got into landscape photography

  • Comparing how things used to be versus how they are now

  • Where the tight-knit community in photography began

  • Being in community and being a lone wolf

  • And more!
