Sometimes I feel selfish when I’m doing the podcast and interviewing guests. My interview with Alex Noriega felt that way. Not because of the questions I asked or having direct access to ask those questions, but because I learned so much about an approach to photography from Alex. What was interesting about our talk was that it truly felt like we were chatting over a beer. Alex Noriega is extremely down to earth and mellow.
The biggest questions that I had for Alex were those on the topics of the approach of photography and the post-processing that goes into creating an image. Alex shared with me an objective way to view photography both in the field with composition and in post-processing. I actually made notes about what I needed to do to approach post-processing differently and take time to edit my own images.
Alex Noriega and I also discussed other topics in this episode like:
- Why Alex no longer uses drones
- A slow approach to photography
- Using social media
- What big awards mean to Alex
- Why he’s The Beatles of landscape photography (lol I had to put it in there, Alex)
- And more!
