Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens Review

A while back, I had the pleasure of testing and reviewing a macro lens for Sony mirrorless systems, the Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens.

Now, I'll admit I've never been a huge fan of shooting macro photography, but some of my favorite photographers take some great macro photos. So, I decided to give it a shot.

The Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens tested very well. Here's some of what I found:

THE PROS:

  • The lens is very small and light, unlike some of the other macro lens on the market (but that's expected with a mirrorless system.
  • The Sony 50mm f/2.8 is extremely sharp and produces really good color.
  • It's very easy to use
  • Manual focus is wonderful

THE CONS:

  • It is slightly expensive for what you get.
  • The auto focus is SLOW!

Here's a video of more of my thoughts and if you want to take a closer look, here's a link for the Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens on Amazon.
