Master Lighting in Landscape Photography

Lighting in landscape photography is the most important aspect of the educational process of learning to shoot outdoors because light is the medium of landscape photography. Lighting in landscape photography is what photographers use to create the images that you see. Because of light, and knowing how to master lighting in landscape photography, you see the beautiful images you love. 

There are three types of lighting in landscape photography that you must know and understand in order to capture beautiful images of the great outdoors.

  1. Front Light
  2. Back Light
  3. Side Light

Now, each type of light is relative to the subject. So, front light has light that faces the front of your subject.

For example, if you're shooting a mountain sunrise where the sun is rising behind your subject, you're shooting back light since the light source is at the back of the mountain.
